Website Photo Hosting.....

Hi

My brother does professional Caterham race photography so I estimate he has somewhere in the region of 20000 photos from the season.

A lot are keyworded down to driver, so I am looking to resize the lot (over a few days/weeks) watermark, and get them up on the net probably about 100Kb each..

Not really trying to generate business, just continue to get his name out there.

Anyone got a good idea what site this will most suit? flickr, fotki, photobucket etc. Don't mind paying, ideally want it to be searchable from the website and also google.

ps: I am working on refining the work flow on all of this, be interested to see what others would recommend for such a job.

No idea on the hosting sorry.

If you don't want anything too fancy* in the watermark department then Irfanview can do batch resize and add a text watermark at the same time. Has the advantage of being free, as well as being a bloody good re-size tool.


* text only but the text watermarking is quite a powerful tool if you want filenames or various bits of exif info automagically put in.

You could go with the Lightroom "generate website" function (which is significantly more professional-looking than it sounds!) and then host it all cheaply on something like Amazon S3, but for the money (£25 IIRC) a Flickr Pro account is hard to beat.

Thanks so far, keep them coming. Using LR2.6 so it was how I was intending to do it, but wondered what else people would suggest. Bought a plug in to do watermarking, but like I say keep them coming. Was planning to do an export from LR into a folder and then bulk upload once watermark, keywords inc copyright are all sorted.

Not a bad guess at 20000, 20421...... although I will try and seek out the blatantly tosh ones.
