What colour wheels?

The laquer and original paint on my wheels is starting to peel off and look horrible and i really fancy a change of wheel colour for when i respray them (will be doing it myself), but what colour should i paint them?

A new set of SP12's will be on the cards in the next couple of months so the original wheels will be only kept as winter wheels, so am willing to be a bit more daring when respraying these ones.

Opinions please

They look good as they are but maybe a gun metal finish would be OK.

When i bought my chim i got a white set of 17" OZ's with them and had them re powder coated Anthracite kind of wish i went silver now think i am getting old and like OEM stuff more i cant use the standard wheels as my big brakes are on the way so have yo use the 17's i think keep them silver.

maybe its my age but white always reminds me of those cheap white painted 8 spokes people had if they couldn't afford proper alloys !!

You mean White Weller wheels Phillpot and no i never had them,white wheels does look st though Anthracite may suite your Chim Lewis,think i would Photoshop then on your colour Chim 1st though just to see did you fix the brakes Lewis?

Personally I think if you went with a polished option on the rim and maybe the center in black they would look the mutts!

If you're using them as winter wheels, then I would go black. I assume your SPs will be silver, so then you have options to change the look of the car too.

Re the SPs - I really much prefer these in black as opposed to silver. Look less busy and much more racecar like.

Having gone to the trouble of changing the orange indicators for the white/silver look, why introduce another colur into the equation?

Stick with silver!

My Cerb has black SP12's - see profile. I didn't think much of them (thought i preferred spiders) or black for that matter but they came on the car when I bought it and they have really grown on me.

I think the colour of the car really impacts on the colour of the wheels and vice versa...? Not sure black would go with red (IMHO) but sometimes you never know until you see the wheels on the car if you know what I mean?

Personally I think black/anthracite wheels look great with the following colour cars:-

Black
Yellow
Red
Silver
Grey
Green
(thats all I Can think of)

I think they look not so good with blue cars (I had a cerb with this set up and it looked so much better when I swapped the anthracite RL18s for silver spiders).

Mine has had the wheels painted to match the colour of the car, darker than standard silver but not quite anthractite i don't think...

I had my Chim wheels refurbished, silver spoke faces which then fades to anthracite between the spokes - takes away the silver plainness (and hides brake dust)

Update:

For the sake of £20 worth of rattle cans i thought i would start with something a bit different and then work my way to the more conventional if i did'nt end up liking it, and after seeing Clives griff in Sprint i was sold.

Opinions welcome, but watch this space as they may end up changing again in a few months if i change my mind.
