Are you sitting comfortably? Let's talk toilet seats!

Specifically, those soft close ones.
I seem to be replacing the toilet seat in our bathroom every 3 months or so at the moment. This is because of the annoying short person who is my youngest son slamming the bloody thing down at every bloody opportunity he gets until the hinges on the lid snap off.
So I decided it might make sense to get a soft close one so that it would no longer make the big noise he finds so entertaining. Then Mrs Kermit found one in the Next catalogue for £35, which, considering Homebase and the like sell them for around £50-60, seemed like a pretty good deal.
Great, that was, up until I tried fitting the damned thing! It turns out to have absolutely no front to rear positioning adjustment, and as our toilet has a concealed cistern inside the bathroom furniture, this means that the seat won't stay upright.
OK, at least it's not going to be broken as easily, but a toilet seat that won't stay up is, as all blokes know, one of the most annoying phenomena on the face of the planet. Add in the fact that middle offspring (aged 4) is toilet trained, but not always totally accurate, and adding a falling toilet seat into the mix is a guaranteed way of getting half the bathroom liberally coated in toddler urine.
So, does anyone know where I can find a soft-close toilet seat with front to rear adjustment?

Have a look in B&Q for Bemis toilet seats. They have some with soft close that have bolt positions in an H (2 top, 2 bottom and one sort of in the middle) and you can screw the threaded bar into any of these depending on your toilet shape. They've got 3 wood effect (DONT get the bamboo, its very uncomfortable to sit on apparently) and some stores have had a plain white version away from the main display in a stand.

If you or anyone you know has a Costco membership, they often seem to have them in. We got five of them and they're well built and were only around £20 each. But, as always with Costco, there's no guarantee they're still there!
I thought of that, but they've not got any in stock in Croydon.

There is no other option than leading by example and sitting down to wee!!
We have Roper Rhodes soft close seats ("Curve" model). They have adjustment all round.
Look them up on the website, choose the appropriate size and colour and then call your local bathroom shop (independent) and they'll order them in for you.

The original batch they had in, were what I would call hard-core ones, where they had a thick seat and looked wooden. The latest batch they have in (that I've seen in Reading) are what I'd class as lightweight. They look rather flimsy and very plasticy to me.

Ah, that'll do the job. They've got one for £36. Better than the B&Q one at £50-odd.As linked above, Roper Rhodes are v good, they have a lifetime guarantee against breakage and hinge corrosion.
Cant remember specifically what level of adjustment the one I fitted had, but I do remember it being fairly well designed.
If you shop around on the net, you should get a plain one for ~£35.
