Arizona has been trying a speed camera scheme like ours, however their politicians had admitted that raising cash was part of why they were brought in. And they have just not raised they money to keep them running.

Don't know if the same rules apply here but in Arizona - ' That is because Arizonans have realised that they can simply ignore tickets sent to them in the post, and the authorities cannot prove that they have received them. Unless the tickets are served in person - something Arizona cannot afford to do'

A bit like North Yorkshire then.

They don't exist here, as they are deemed pointless.

No here they just assume that you have got them whether you have or not and if you don't respond then they up the penalty, unlike the USA we are guilty until proven innocent in motoring cases.

Strangely the UK is too soft on serious crime but tough on motoring, 'compliance' (and other tax-evasion) crime.

The revenue camera people in Western Australia also admitted they were for revenue. We all know they are, it's just typical of our weasel political servants to keep up the lie... 'safety' cameras...

I thought also that Speed Cameras were unconstitutional, at least in the way we do it, without being served or having your day in court you never get to face your accuser which I'm sure Jimbeaux can correct or confirm.
