Replacing Brake Master Servo on an S3
Discussion
Hiya,
I'd like to change the master brake servo (Ford type) on my S3 and was wondering weather it's a simple job as i'll be keeping the original reservoir and cylinder etc?
Does the master cylinder just unscrew from the cylinder once the four bolts have been removed that hold it to the bulkhead?
If I keep the cylinder full of fluid will I need to bleed the brakes?
Am I right in thinking a Ford Fiesta Mk3 will be a straight swap-out for the existing Ford part with TRW/Lucas PSA328?
If so where can I get one?
Cheers!

Make sure you put some sealant between the servo & bulkhead to stop water getting in - its right behind the front wheel!
I used thick grease as it is "self healing" whereas sealant can break down over timeMark
t to a blanket when I changed my servo last year Can the master cylinder be removed from the servo without needing to be bled?
I'm wondering if I can just remove the servo from the bulkhead, unscrew the 2 bolts holding on the cylinder, then fit a new servo without needing to do any of the bleeding the article above in this thread mentions?

Depends how much free play you have on your brake pipes - in theory yes it should be possible but might be easier just to accept the fact that you need to bleed them and give yourself more room to workI'm wondering if I can just remove the servo from the bulkhead, unscrew the 2 bolts holding on the cylinder, then fit a new servo without needing to do any of the bleeding the article above in this thread mentions?

Yep did it last year was a bit of a fiddle but possibleI'm wondering if I can just remove the servo from the bulkhead, unscrew the 2 bolts holding on the cylinder, then fit a new servo without needing to do any of the bleeding the article above in this thread mentions?
