Well, it's been 2.5 years of thinking that the S1 Elise just doesn't do for me what the S2 Exige did. That has all come to an end now as I am the proud owner of an Exige again - yippeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, I am so happy!! biggrin

Don't get me wrong, the S1 is an amazing car, the K-Series engine is an absolute joy and shouldn't be sniffed at - in some ways it's better than the toyota as it's got so much torque, less fiddling around with the gears when you need to boot it past someone. But I just cant help but smile every time I hit that second cam, and the look of the car is just so god damn stunning. The Elise is cute and pretty, but just not 'wow' enough.

I have very much enjoyed S1 ownership and have learnt a lot. I have used it as a daily driver for 2.5 years and have not had too many moments of wishing I was in something more practical, I love living with these cars, hence I'm now onto my 3rd one (properly sucked in)! I will miss the elise for sure, it was certainly awesome on track too!

Those that know me might be surprised that the new steed is not Chrome Orange, the colour of my first love! There simply are not many around, and I've always loved the magnetic blue colour, and that is what I now have. It's a 54 reg NA Exige - if I feel the need to sort out that torque and power, then there's always something that can be done about that! We'll see. For now I am just overjoyed to be back in an Exige.

Congrats, they are lovely cars biggrin

Now get some suitable tyres (i.e. NOT A048Rs) on the thing and have fun in it! Bung the stickies back on in spring...

Cheers guys. Current tyres are some Khumo type, which seem quite good actually with this weather, still pretty grippy though but might make it a bit more fun too knowing how much grip they usually have with the stickies! I suspect they might be nice and worn out by spring time ready for something more sticky, although tempted to stay with something less sticky, for the fun factor!

Tim, the Elise is up for sale on here at the moment, still waiting for a suitable home to send him to. It will be sad knowing how much work we've put into it, but you have hit the nail on the head with where the heart lies!!

Getting back into an S2 has really highlighted how different the S1 & S2 are - quite surprising, but both excellent!

Congrats. Saw some piccies on FB and thought you may have just been visiting friends. Now it has fallen into place.

Enjoy. You never know, something similar appeals as my next motor.

Let's start thinking of a Sunday morning breakfast run perhaps in February....

You should have Honda'd the S1, you wouldn't have wanted a Toyota ever again tongue out .

I have to say that I do love S2 Exiges (although not as much as S1s) really happy for you beer

is the panzer becoming a bit dull? thinking back to the heady days of S1 ownership? Me thinks you needs toy in the garage, call it an investment for the kids. smile

Don't get me wrong. The Panzer is brilliant as a "commuter barge" and it must be one of the nicest ways to do a 70 mile commute each day, it's just not as engaging as the old S1. IF my commute were to ever truncate to something significantly less then I would seriously consider a return but perhaps to an S1 Exige this time around. I've still got the old L99 TUS plate waiting for a new home wink
