However his colleagues attempts don't appear to be damaging the Labour party in the polls.
"The ICM survey for The Sunday Telegraph shows Labour on 30 per cent, one point higher than last month's poll, despite the party squabbles.
The Conservatives are unchanged on 40 per cent and the Liberal Democrats down one point on 18 per cent.
Repeated in a general election, the figures would give the Conservatives a very small Commons majority of roughly 16 seats"

Not going to be able to make big changes with a majority of 16.

You only need a majority of 1."The ICM survey for The Sunday Telegraph shows Labour on 30 per cent, one point higher than last month's poll, despite the party squabbles.

The new Tory MP intake will have been well aware of the horror of the final months of John Major's administration, and the fundamental dividing issue - Europe - has largely been decided by the Labour government since 1997. It'll take a few years before a majority of 16 becomes a problem.
That being said, I am rather amazed at that opinion poll result, but who knows - it could be a double bluff by the Tory press to get Winky to press the election button.

Hang, Hoon hasn't said that. In fact he hasn't said anything. All that's happened is someone has leaked letters between Hoon and Brown. The Sunday Times have then mentioned that Hoon has recently plotted against Brown and will soon be up before the Chilcot inquiry.http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/politics/art...

What if this leak is nothing to do with Hoon? What if a third party has leaked these letters? Normally if these letters came out, Brown would get blamed and then it gets forgotten about. But in this case, someone might be reminding Hoon that he now has very little to lose by telling the Chilcot inquiry all about how "Brown stopped me doing this and that".
I reckon someone has seen the chance to force Hoon's hand right up Brown's arse. It just seems slightly more shrewd than your average political plot/leak/revenge.

UK Polling Report say that 30% is a one percent drop for Labour over last month, not a one percent increase, so who is right?"The ICM survey for The Sunday Telegraph shows Labour on 30 per cent, one point higher than last month's poll, despite the party squabbles.

Telegraph took the 1 point increase from their previous Telegraph/ICM poll, which was published 5th December. This showed Labour on 29%.
What UK Polling Report have done is used the most recent ICM poll, which was carried out for the Guardian a week later (published 14 December). It's the same poll/methodology, just commissioned by a different paper. This showed Labour up to 31%.
Basically as your link pointed, the Telegraph were being a bit childish by ignoring polls carried out by other newspapers and only referring to their own. An extreme example would be comparing last year's result and last month's result. So technically they are both correct. It's just the latter is more correct if you want to know how support for Labour is trending in more detail.
