Hi all,

Just a quick question - i want to resize some images - quite small (small enough for an avatar on a forum)

How do i make a 100x100 pixel picture without it being too small to even see - the forum says that max size is 100x100 but that is tiny.....

Thanks,

Woza.

100px is 100px I'm afraid!

NB: You're probably looking at the wrong zoom size. Hit Ctrl/+ until it says '100%' at the top. Very important!

It always amazes me that people fork out £££'s on software, yet can't do the basics with it biggrin

As Simpo says are you looking at it at 100% - which should be something like:

That's not too tiny, surely? I think the ones on many forums are just 75 X 75!

I think the command is something like Image, Image size and then enter 100 pixels in the width and height box and PS will do the resizing down for you.

Or start with a blank 100 x 100 canvas and paste into and resize what you want.

Are you suggesting that I should know how to do every task before buying it, surely people need to learn everything?]

Actually when I got to the same point I figured it out myself. Forums are great but they can stop people thinking for themselves sometimes.

I have yet to know if my timely answer solved Woza's issues though, he didn't mention it.

I admit it was a little lazy on my part but finding the answer to such simple tasks is hard to find online.

Any your answer was spot on, thanks simpo.

Push buttons, see what happens, that's how I learn. Suppose we are all different though.

Glad my hunch was right smile

I reckon there are three ways to solve this kind of problem - my running order is:

1) Poke it around and see what happens - there's always Ctrl/Z if it goes wrong.
2) Ask a forum or friend
3) Google it

Learning by doing (ie the first way) is probably the best way to learn and remember - the answer is usually there on the screen or in a menu somewhere, you just have to find it smile
