Many months ago I posted under a different name. (i think it was in the viper forum), why no corvette or mustang forums (others most probably asked the same question). Anyway i was ridiculed a bit by a viper guy (can't remember the name now) about corvettes being less of a car than a viper, and who would be interested. Anyway i have just noticed there are approaching nearly 3000 posts on the corvette forum and 2000 plus on the viper forum not bad for a forum that has been running such a short time.

It's just a little bit of rivalry. The Viper is faster in the quarter than the Z06 but I have about five tests from all the major mags which all say the Viper is a bouncy, tramlining, crude monster of a car and the Z06 was the weapon of choice in every test conducted and faster round a track by a significant margin.

If you've got Kazaa, you can find the video of Z06 vs Mustang 5.4 Cobra vs Viper ACR and yep,the Vette wins again. The Viper is a beautiful car and electrifyingly fast in a straight line though the Z06 isn't far behind there either - but it's a muscle car in the greatest Mopar tradition, not a sports car.

Strangely enough, I suggested making the Mustang forum a Muscle Car forum especially given that Camaros and Firebirds outnumber Mustangs about 10 to 1 in the UK - but then most tend to use the American car forums like www.aacint.com anyway.

I'm not knocking the Vipers but they're a lot of money for what they are. Indeed, in Germany, you can buy a Lambo Diablo for the same money but then there's the running costs argument which the Lambo would lose before it started.

It is not difficult to work out why the Corvette forum has received more postings in the short time it has been going compared to the Viper Forum. There are thousands of Corvettes in the UK and less than 1oo Vipers so it`s pretty damn obvious.

I owned a 95` Corvette LT1 for 6 years and it was my daily drive. Now I own a Viper GTS ACR and there is no way I would ever return to a Vette. They are leagues apart.

But how would any chatrooms etc. anywhere survive if we were all nice to each other all the time ?

Agreed, things would get pretty generic and boring. I mean like the Viper Alley is a place only for adults. A bit of competition here and there, and a few insults to the competing cars (for fun) won't go astray or do any harm.

If you people think the fact that there are more posts here than on the Viper forum in a shorter space of time, which is true, then you should check out the Mustang forum - not much happening there, forgetting about time since the forum has been up. The last topic over there is usually a few days old!

Most of the Mustang guys are on UKStreetracers site, set up by dedicated 5.0 owner and supported by their own race series, they do however welcome (albeit with a bit of baiting) any chevy owners!

Isn't Juicy baiting a porn star? Sounds like it should be!

While we're on that subject, who are the Le Mann strippers? Will we be seeing them in Germany?

Malcolm

They used to have strippers at the funfair at Le Mans, I don't think they still do. JT would probably know!
