Replacement key for Chimaera?

I need to get a new key cut from my Chim, however I'd like to get a good one (I've often found that copy keys don't work as well as originals). Where have others gone for copy keys? Do Vauxhall still make blanks?

I just went to my wee local Cobbler who also does key cutting £8 and it works fine. just a vauxhall key IIRC. most will have blanks i should think.

I had two copies cut which were crap - the original key was too worn to be a good base.

So I took my handbook and key to a Vauxhall dealer (need both as they have code numbers) and got two brand new ones - helps if you talk nicely to the parts people as they have to get them from some central place - in my case I parked the Chim outside so they could see it, took the girl behind the parts desk for a ride and they sorted it our for me And both keys work perfectly.......

That's kind of what I expected; mine came with an original and a recently cut spare, the spare doesn't work!

I got a Blank Tuscan key (rather than the nasty Vauxhall one)from Racing Green and then got a local (expensive) locksmith to cut it and popped all the guts from the original alarm fob into it - perfect fit.
