The Third & The Seventh
Discussion
Just seen this video, and my jaw is still on the floor. If you didn't read the description, would you guess that it was computer generated?
A couple of screenshots.

There's also a video showing some examples of how it was put together.
I wish I had stuck with 3D all they years ago

thats incredible - especially as its the work of one person. The knowledge you need for photorealistic 3d just blows my mind- youve not only got to be good at modelling and motion, but you have to have a deep understanding of lightning, editing, camera movement, lenses, the maths of dof, textures etc etc
Theres some stuff we were shown at work, of a development, thats of this level - theyve even gone through the trouble of adding small amounts of dust on the virtual lens, and adding some slight camera shake to make it look like on the shoulder footage.
Weird isnt it - as photogrpahers / cameramen, we spend our lives trying to get rid of flare, dust and shake, and then 3d guys come along and spend ages putting it all back in! i understand why though - i noticed a lot of flare and lens dust in the 3d scene in the new star trek film. But when you just sit back and watch, it really does add to the realism.

4hero - I've just realised something, your nick doesn't have anything to do with the old school rave band does it? Heavily OT, but I just happen to be listening to 4hero's Mr Kirk's Nightmare

(I was listening to the same thing one night and asked).

Ahh, Mr Kirk' Nightmare

Certainly inspiring Fordo!
