Get some chicken breasts, plus a bag of fresh mixed green veg (if they do that). Oven bake chicken in foil. Could make up some sauce in a meanwhile, cook rice too (add some frozen peas to it).

I normally use garlic, paprika, salt, pepper and a few chilli flakes for seasoning, yum and makes chicken a little less boring!

Or marinade the chicken: honey, dijon mustard, soy sauce, lemon juice and garlic ... mix together and pour over chicken before cooking.

Anything with pasta or rice? You can add chicken, mince, turkey, pork, whatever is going cheap, then add chopped tomatoes plus whatever herbs and/or chillis that you have about to suit your taste for a bolognase/chilli type thing, or add a tin of coconut milk plus spices to make a curry type thing. Good thing with this is it can be frozen once done and used again later.

Chuck it all in and stew for a couple of hours type cassarole thing, ideal for cheap, tough meat with some spuds and cheap veg.

Healthy and on the cheap? Cut out the meat and have a veg dish. Maybe a veg curry would be nice on a cold evening?

How about some pasta with tuna?

1 tin of chopped tomatoes, 1 tin of sweetcorn, 1 tin of tuna, 1 small red onion, 1 garlic clove, salt and pepper and some dried basil, a little bit of grated cheese on top.... lovely.

totally agree but replace breasts with leg and thigh if you prefer the price / taste. i find breast a little bland.
