After a couple of happy years with Hagerty, they now want a 40% increaseeek in premiums to renew my 3rd year with them!!!

I have had no claims and nothing has changed in the last 2 months.....only 1 year older!

Before I start the monotonous task of trawling through the Wiki and making numerous phone calls repeating myself, does anyone out there know of any insurers that are writing realistic premiums for TVRs currently?

Are they all at the old game of "tempt them in with cheap premiums, keep them a couple of years and then hike the premium"???

Thanks

Christ, i hope not. I am due to renew my Aston and cerbera with them in a couple of weeks. They told me a few months ago that to renew with my son and wife driving both cars it would be £600. Will be interesting to see if they stick to it.

Direct Line did it for me - £386 fully comp on the Chim, 18,000 miles p/a with £500 excess, protected no claims. Everywhere else I tried was wanting at least twice that and some had excesses of £1,500 or more...

Hi all, new to this and own a humble 350 wedge. Got a quote from footman james at the NEC a couple of months ago (just to rest my legs and spend 20mins talking to a lovely sales girl you understand) and was expecting a comical figure....but was gobsmacked how low it was !!1 £160 5K/year. 47yr old degenerate with 3 or 6 points !!! (cant remember)
Worth a call???

Hi, try Admiral, Multicar policy, I found it good for my BMW 330d and Boxster S, and still good when I changed the Boxster for a Chimaera. My renewal is in Feb so I'll be finding out soon....

I was told by a specialist its best to go with someone who you can guarantee you a fixed value on your car if something goes wrong instead of a normal policy.

Has anyone got this policy? My current policy i have stated the value of the car however if something did go wrong everyone knows this means nish and they will valuve by the glasses guide if not then what they see as market price.

(Sorry to hijack slightly but worth knowing...)

After two years with Mannings, Classicline beat them quite comfortably this year and gave me 'agreed value' smile

A-Plan didn't do it for me last year ............. they raised my premium to over £1000 and i tried Adrian Flux and they quoted me £473.
When i rang A-Plan back up to tell them i'm going to cancel they then re-quoted me £500 ish (can't remember exact amount) so it might be an idea to try another quote from someone else then go back to your existing insurer.
Am now with Adrian Flux and vowed i will not go back to A-Plan again.

It is deffinately worth playing two or three companies off against each other as this must have saved me thousands over the years.
This year Classicline insured my Tuscan on a fully comp 3000 mile policy with quality breakdown and agreed value for £350!

Can sometimes work against you. I gave a "value" when I insured my Tamora but when it was written off I got market value which was higher than the original figure given. An agreed value would have cost me money. Sunninghill tops as far as I'm concerned.

Im currrently on an agreed value policy with Hagerty...... and those that have found mannings to be better suprise me,as they both use the same company to underwrite their policies...Allianz if i recall right,as always with insurance, its never straight forward dealing with them.

Yes, about £630 with Hagerty, agreed values of about 40k (can't remember details) - for 3 TVRs.

Agreed value is the correct term and it could prove useful in the event accident.
