I bought some Aigle parcous boots yesterday and have just got back after having them on all morning. Have to say, very comfortable. Wasn't like wearing traditional wellingtons at all.

I borrowed my OHs wellies when in Finland, they are rated to -40 have a heavy duty sock and are bloody heavy, you couldnt slip on ice if you tried.

If I could only remember the name of them.

NO! Wouldn't say I have particularly large calfs either but I do know understand why my grandad used to wear wellies with the tops turned down!

I have some cheap dunlop wellies and they are fine, for snow my Meindl Walking boots are much better.

At least these ones do expand.

I have never understood why Hunters have Buckles when the Calf can't expand at all
