Any recommendations for an installer of the above ?

Either good national firm or close to HP23

Cheers

Have you tried contacting your local council? There are normally grants available to get it fitted and they may have firms working for them who do the work. Certainly that's the case in Northamptonshire, we had a surveyor visit and do an assessment and they also check the insulation in the loft. Was all free, no obligation. We decided not to go ahead in the end but if we consider doing cavity wall insulation again I'll go straight to the council and see what they can do.

I've used Igloo a couple of times and found them very good.

As mentioned speak to your local Council but you might also want to try your gas or electric supplier as there are all offering a subsidised service.

We have considered it but the subsidised cost is £350, our gas bill is £600 a year so how long will it take to pay back? Also there apparently can be an issue if your electric cables run through the cavity with the cavity wall insulation stripping the insulation off the electric cable.

My other concern is that the cavity is required to keep water out, so if you fill it and the job is not done properly won't the cavity be bridged?

Used Igloo too, a couple of months ago, to do cavity wall and loft insulation. I'm happy with what they did.

more of a problem than realised
If the outside wall is say porous stone, the cavity wall insulation will always be damp and refuse to insulate. New builds have a layer of plastic sheet to avoid this

Have not seen this in building regs for brick - they seem quite happy with block/glass fibre/brick for the walls.

If the system is Agrément Board approved and used as per the certificate, it should be fine.
