Well after a bit of deliberation, although not too much, the new toy was ordered and has subsequently arrived. smile

A lovely Canon 7D with 15-85mm lens!

Over the years I've only had Canons and progressed from a 3000v to a 300D to a 400D it seemed a logical step as most accessories I have only fit the Canons.

What a difference in handling compared to the 400D the 7D is. Much comfier to hold and although the menus are a bit more in depth everything is where it should be and it hasn't taken long to adjust.

And now for the obligatory pics.

The size difference was quite a shock when I sat it next to its smaller brother.

The kit was ordered from Park Cameras and a big thanks to them. Quick delivery with only one issue which they have been emailed about but apart from that a top service.

Good choice!

I have the 50D which I love and it pretty much ticks all the boxes currently, so the 7D should be better I'm sure.

Look forward to the first shots being posted.

Park Cameras are very good. They saved a fortune for me last month (or rather for Hiscox) when my 5D Mk II, three lenses and a flash were taken in a burglary in Italy.

What is the 15-85mm like? Seems like a really useful range and a generally good lens.

Isnt it! I had a 350D but had used a 40D and 5D a lot, 7D is another level, very easy to quickly change just about anything, love the quick menu too, and the ability to setuop the autofocus system is astounding (4 or 5 modes at a touch of a button) still getting to grips with it.

They're reasonably local to me and have opened a new shop in the last year which is always worth a visit.

I bought a 50mm 1.8 but was unsure if I wanted to have the 1.4..... Not a problem the boss said, have a go with it at FOS and if you don't like it or would like to buy the 1.4 simply bring it back.

You just can't buy good service!
