Ultrasonic mice repellents - do they work?
Discussion
The little sods are up in the roof, our four peanut-buttered traps so far have a 75% kill rate and are back up there for another round.
I've seen the ultrasonic plug-in deterrant devices, but have seen lots of mixed reviews. Once we've got rid of this round of intruders, I'd like to deter them from coming back. Is it worth plugging one in up there or just keeping a few baited traps on standby instead?

No, keep using the traps, that way you know when you got a kill. Have you tried the glue traps, they are quite good.I've seen the ultrasonic plug-in deterrant devices, but have seen lots of mixed reviews. Just had a similar problem of mice in roof and hollow stone wall. Caught a few in traps, but ultrasonic repellent had no effect at all! put it right next to where we could hear one knawing at the studs, but it did nothing! Got rid of them with poison bait put inside the walls. Not the way I really wanted to do it but when they wake you up all night long not much else you can do!

Same here. Had a few in the loft scurrying about all night. Tried the ultrasonics - no use at all. Got pest control in (local - not Rentokill) for £40, and they put down chocolate-based poison. This stuff also dehydrates them first, so they go outside to get water - then die there. Not had any since in the loft.Got snappy traps in the garage with bits of snickers on them. Caught a few, but there's still at least one who won't take the bait.
