should i buy reconditioned?
Discussion
i'm a bit of a 'tard on holidays and have in the past managed to loose two SLRs. so i've come to the conclusion that i'm going to buy a cheapish body and spend more on glass instead.
i've got an old canon long zoom lens and have always bought canon so i'm looking to buy an eos 1000d. my last camera was a 400d which i was more than happy with.
i've found a reconditioned 1000d on ebay from a canon reseller. it comes with a year's warranty and a 18-55 non IS kit lense. all for £300.
is it worth it? the alternative would be a brand new 1000d for £380 or a 450d with 18-55 IS lense for £420.
my thoughts are that for landscapes i won't need high frames per second and i can always upgrade the body later if i manage to not loose it!
any advice appreciated. thanks

Bought my 450D off the canon outlet on ebay. As above, it came with a tatty box. However it lives in my tidy camera bag not my tatty camera box so I don't care. No problems with it and the helpline phone numbers and warranty works because I had to call to get the 18-55 lens fixed under warranty as it stopped focusing. Very pleased with it all and £150 off cheapest new price I could find.

Yes, he should have trained them to return before letting them off the lead.
