Hendersons Relish

Can the rest of the world put me in the picture, i'm suffering from the (perhaps misguided) assumption that "Hendersons Relish" is available throughout the UK and not just in't northern territories.....
I remember Sean Bean (Yorkshire actor, nah then lad..) going on about it to the Guardian or some other paper, how he has to get cases of it shipped to L.A. cause they dont sell it over there. Thats understandable, but, if its not available all over the UK, well, this news may seriously affect my understanding of reality itself......

I feel a national campaign for raising the profile of the worlds best sauce may be justified.

I don't think I have ever seen it sale more than about 10 miles from the factory.

I live eleven miles NNW of the factory, and the 'lil shop down 't road sells it by the crate load.
Can anyone beat 11 miles?

No, this is definitely, NOT re-bottled L&P. If you can get some in a shop near you, please do so. Your taste buds will possibly send you a bunch of flowers as thanks. Mind, your pie - n - casserole consumption will likely increase considerably...

Depends where the factory is, i assume in sheffield, so i'm, about 25 miles or so from the factory. Used to always use L&P, but recently tried Henderson's and have to say i think i prefer the slightly spicier taste of L&P, but hendersons does make a fried bacon sarnie very very tasty. Just add to frying pan a goodly amount when cooking the bacon, then toast the bread and spread with marge, then add bacon

Round here you can get pretty much everywhere, but especially the main supermarkets, i have seen it in asda,tesco,morrisons and sainsbury's

I'm a southerner and have never even heard of it. Though I'd swim in a vat of it for a go on Sean Bean.

I'm originally from Sarth Yorks and I never remember seeing it in the shopes/supermarkets when I lived there.

Sheff and its environs only I believe.

Meat and potato pies aren't the same without it. Had my mum send some out to Japan when I lived there.

I know it says it's made in Sheffield, but when you do a wiki search it says see also Worcestershire Sauce and L&P.

Impressed by the 1-litre bottle.. ooh baby! not sure 'bout the price, tho.. sick-squid is a lot. our butcher sells it at a pound a bottle 0.25 litre.
unless its concentrate.. now we're talking!!

Just to test, have gone into kitchen & tasted the difference. Totally different!!

Its a bit more fruity than L&P, less harsh intially, kid of tangy i guess too, HTH

As above (snowy's comment). I have to agree, you could easily put L&P and Hendersons in the same bracket, but, the Sheffield brew is so much smoother, it has a totally different depth of flavour. I think KT Tunstall (pop-person) sums it up beautifully..
