We looked at one of these a couple of years ago for the M-i-L because she struggles to lift a kettle. Many of the reviews said that that they didn't really get hot enough to make good tea.

Costco often sell them and will take an item back if you are not happy with it - if you've got membership or know someone who has that might be worth a try.

We have one.

We bought it a year or so ago but gave up and bought a kettel again.

IMHO the water is nowhere near hot enough.

I thought about buying one about 12 months ago, reviews on PH made me stick with a kettle.

For those who need to ensure their water is boiled (compromised immune system etc) these things arent any good, as they dont reach boiling point.

Nearly bought one sometime ago, but after reading some reviews, I'm glad we didn't.

I have one and wouldn't be without it. Hot enough for drinks if you don't have to have them red hot. Hot enough to dissolve jelly and make gravy etc. Easier to handle as there's no lifting. Also like the filtered water facility. Got ours from Costco.

Definately worth a shot. Only negative is that they are abit noisy when 'pouring' but they offer hot water without the wait!
