Israel harvested organs in ’90s without consent
Discussion
Israel has admitted that in the 1990s, its forensic pathologists harvested organs from Palestinians.
Military confirms informal practice, claims it ‘does not happen anymore’ - yeh right.

Just like some British hospitals did.
what, british military hospitals harvested foreigners organs in the 1990s?I'm sure most of the "victims" were British but there might have been the odd foreigner included - I mean, why discriminate?

The Channel 2 report said that in the 1990s, forensic specialists at Abu Kabir harvested skin, corneas, heart valves and bones from the bodies of Israeli soldiers, Israeli citizens, Palestinians and foreign workers, often without permission from relatives.

Its a good job the british hospitals wernt in a position where they could abduct and imprison thousands of healthy people to meet any demand.
Are you claiming that they took organs from LIVE people, or killed them in order to obtain those organs?Edited by JacksHereR on Thursday 24th December 11:37
If that is indeed the case, then that is a crime against humanity.
On the other hand, making use of the bodies of people who have died in combat or in a "war" type situation is not anything like as awful. Obviously, the matter of consent is important but that is more a medical ethics issue rather than a criminal issue.

Someone is dead, not coming back, better to use their organs to help people as what is left is only going to scooped up and dropped into a wooden box to be either burnt and fed to the worms undergroundThats just wrong

By definition that is a criminal issue. Accepting such practices opens the gateway for decisions being made contrary to the agreement of individuals, hence disregarding their rights. It's perhaps the MOST serious issue in medicine.Gassing Station | News, Politics & Economics | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
