Gran Turismo GT Academy - Anyone tried it?

HI There,

After seeing the advert on the PH homepage I thought that I'd have a go. After later discovering that I'm too old for the Playstation, I had my 16 year old son have a go.

He's currently 2073rd in the world (Isn't technology brilliant?!)

Has anyone else had a go?

I had a go but didn't do too well, I just can't get on with the way GT drives as oppose to forza etc. it just doesn't feel realistic

strange that as i always thought that GT5 was more realistic until i tried forza with a steering wheel an pedal set up and was totally blown away at how realistic it was - how you can feel ABS kick in an how understeery front wheel drive is and the balance you can achive with oversteer. I now find it harder playing GT5 with a standard issue control pad and not having the same precision with throttle an brake.

I downloaded it lastnight, managed one lap in the standard 370Z and then turned off the PS3 in favour of Forza3 again. This GT5 demo is, in a word, abysmal.

Yep I've tried it and think it's pretty poor, just doesn't feel realistic in any way or form and GT is supposed to be the 'real driving simulator', well judging by this it isn't anymore!

Currently 300th and something overall. Really enjoyed it, more realistic than Forza imo, but i love those sounds in FM3 and the customization.

I bought a ps3 for gt5 and was genuinely dissappointed in it.

It feels lifeless, all the cars have a strange inert understeer, even rwd ones!? Its not "fun" to pick up imo

However I do love forza 3 albeit it is certainly a tad arcadey at times the overall result is one that I can pick up and and enjoy anytime. Even the fwd F class cars can be enjoyable, unlike in gt where they are plane tedious

Ahhh ok. Who cares anyway?

I'd be interested to try Forza and see the difference, could convert me to xBox!
