Considering returning to the TVR fold..

Evening all,
Used to own a T350 which I loved, but temptation got the better of me, and I moved on to a Gallardo whilst I got the chance. Ran it for almost all year, and have now sold it on and got myself a Range Rover Sport. Not the most exciting cars but its been great in the recent weather!
Strangely though, I don't miss the Lambo much at all, but I find myself missing the T350.. Hmm..
Anyways, I'm always finding myself in the classified hunting down my next toy, and the first place I go is the Sagaris'!
I've had the RRS 3 weeks now and already thinking about changing, someone talk me out of it!
Anyone came back to TVR's and regretted it?

Er, no regrets. There is nothing else out there like a TVR for less than 50k unless you want something like an Artega, Lotus, last of the Marcoses, Corvette or a Morgan.
I sold my T350, I didn't regret it at first as the money was earmarked for something else and I knew it had gone to a good home. I bought a BMW Z4 a few months later which was a nice car, but we couldn't get comfy on long journeys (I had to get a model with non-sports seats as my knee hit the dash otherwise). Sold the BMW 2 months later after a trip to Germany and the resultant 'numb bum'. I had looked at Aston V8s (all show and no go), Audi R8s (I do like these but depreciation and the physical size put me off), even Boxsters (awful awful interior unless you get the new model). In the end I came back to TVRs and couldn't find one I liked more than my old one. So the guy who owned it agreed to sell it back to me. Lucky me.

I sold my previous T350c and bought a Maserati GT. Within months i had sold it to purchase my current T350c losing thousands in the process! As much as I want a Gallardo I don't think they are anywhere near a match for the T350 when you consider the cost. I also don't think any car matches it for sheer beauty!
I'm about to join the fold for the first time. For me there is nothing else like a TVR. The greatest tragedy is that it won't be long before you can't buy a good one for anything less than serious money. The number that are crashed or fall to pieces seems to increase daily and a lot of people who own them now intend to keep them. If I could have afforded it I would have bought one of the brand new cars from Racing Green. It seems that are building them themselves from scratch which should ensure good quality and many years of happy motoring.

ditto - with the same car! Glad to hear you're still enjoying it - must admit when you had it for sale I did consider giving you a call

Been away a few times in the last 30 years but always seem to come back, Lotus, Porsche, Ferrari included. In fact the 'itch' is probably worse than it's ever been - thinking of a third now (a really nice wedge to keep please Father Christmas).
People like you and that Simpson chappie are just plain greedy (Confession: I was thinking of sourcing a LHD Chimaera or Griffith for my second home - the weather is perfect out here now)
I am in the same situation with regard to my Elise that i sold back in January.
Didn't know i would miss it this much but due to my work situation, i am unable to do anything about it.
I do have a lovely 3 series bmw but it's not the same as these little buggers & we all seem to miss them once gone.

I just had to leave the TVR fold as new baby arrived in July and T350 isn't family friendly! tobeee- The RRS certainly isn't fun! It's a great car to drive, its like driving an arm chair, but its quite dull. Saying that, the boot is huge, 5 seats (I'm used to 2 seaters) really comfy, the TDV8 is reasonably powerful. It's probably the best all round car I've owned, it just does everything so well. Its even easy to park which I wasn't expecting!
