not too bad i thought, im on the edinburgh to london train and its just come over the tannoy thing that we'll be restricted to 100mph because of a broken window! how the hell is it all right at 100 with a broken window?

not walked down the train to have a look yet though, i guess they might have emptied the carriage

Must be the newer faster Virgin trains that they were going on about so much.

Id say it will help when passing trains or entering and exiting tunnels.

Oh and the East Coast main line has been 125mph for yonks.

The ECML is actually quite bearable. I often use it in favour of the car or bike. Peterborough to York in 70 minutes is hard to argue with.

yes York to Kings Cross in less than 2 hours every half hour through the day together with free wifi, damn good.

The windows are actually quite thick and double skinned toughened glass, its's perfectly safe on modern 100mph+ trains to run at a restricted max of 100mph.Fitters will also meet the train somewhere and put a sticky sheet over it to prevent glass flying off.
