Can't Deliver, Won't Deliver
What is wrong with the Royal Mail? Panorama investigates the service that gets around 5,000 complaints a day, and asks if our once-proud postal service is failing its customers.
Reporter Vivian White's bleak message is that 2010 will deliver yet more bad news for the Royal Mail, unless the posties and the bosses can get themselves sorted.

A fairly accurate programme overall.
The guy posting leaflets took longer than the postie and he didn't have to flick through the letters to check the ones he was posting to each letterbox was the correct one. Also he didn't have to deliver any packets, Special delivery or recorded items all which take up time.

Oh, & thanks Royal Mail for opening EVERY SINGLE Christmas card that was delivered one day last week, i'm thinking of getting stickers made up "No money in this card you theiving !".

Never have this problem with Royal Mail, However APC, UPS, etc are a real pain. Depot is never local so you have to trek 20 miles to get something you have paid to have delivered.

You need to report him to the manager at your delivery office.

Who? I don't know who is doing it, i would doubt very much it is the postie as he is very good(helps out where he can).

I've filled in i don't know how many claim forms for lost(Recorded!!!!) items.

Their best achievment however was the cheque for £1.98 for failing to collect our post one day!! Yes Royal Mail, you faling to collect all our customer orders on one day simply cost the amount we pay you to collect the fking mail!!! Not even worth banking the bloody cheque.

Only by reporting it they will find who is doing it. They have cameras in the delivery office and they watch anyone suspected until they are sure who it is.
In our local office there were a lot of cards going missing one year and there were complaints from all over the town.
Eventually they narrowed it down to a guy who was sorting and anything he though might contain money he sorted to his delivery and took them home with him at the end of the day. One day when he got home the RM investigators were waiting on his doorstep.
In his bag there were cards which were not his and in the house there were more cards on the mantlepiece and window sills from people he didn't know!.
He was sent to prison for a couple of years.
Only by reporting it you will you help stop it.

Do they take note of claims via the P58 forms? I've never reported anything to the local office but have to fill in the claim forms to then get replacements shipped out.

No you either have to make a complaint through the phone, email or best going to the delivery office and ask for the manager, before 1pm though.
