Chaps...

Doing some work to the '5 over the winter months...Planning on buying a set of T1-R's but need a set of alloys for them too...Is there a good place local that has a decent selection I can pick from & they can fit them there with the tyres? or should I just stick to the online alloy specialists/Fleabay? Budget will be around £400-700 for a good set!

confused

& no-one say Halfords hehe

Is Micheldever Tyres close enough? I've used them loads, well worth it.

Hal.....oh. wink

I always use CJH Tyres in Havant for the TVR, they are great at price matching, always take care of the rims too. Got to be honest, don't know if they sell alloys though - give them a bell. I always used to use Micheldever but these guys match the price and save me ages in drive/wait.

Protyre in Fareham (same company as Micheldever) will usually price match on alloys and tyres, and can usually order them in. Most alloy wheel shops have closed down now unfortunately.

hehe Thanks chaps...Any more ideas?

The reason I ask is all these new fangled websites showing alloys are very nice & what not but it's hard to see what some of them are really like unless you see them in the flesh...Trying to pin down what would look better between some of them is a real pain in the arse.

I'd like to just be able to go to a place & say "Mmmmm, let's try that one, see how that looks" with the car right next to me to have a look.

The wonders of interweb.

I knew it was a bad idea me buying a Jag, I sound like an old man.

I have used Hillsea Tyres in the past, but only for tyres. I have a card of theirs that says they are also suppliers of alloy wheels, so if you want to give them a try their number is 023 9266 6064

I'll second that, used them for ever, price match any internet deal (within reason)

I think this for the Jaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaag, as he's currently blessed with Pirelli P6000 ditch hunters..

Stick with Jag rims XJR XK8/R. I've seen very few aftermarket 'rims' that suit Jags and if you're not careful you could end up looking very Westwood-esque. Innit.

Is South Coast Wheels still going?

TBH only place I ever buy wheels is owners' forums and ebay.

Indeed...It's tough finding a nice set for the Jag.

Regarding the P6000's - Indeed...For some reason, when my mechanic took the Jag away to sort the tyres out, they appear to put the P6000's on the front with some random brand on the rear...So I'm having to drive very very carefully!

Although after my very slow paced & relaxed trip into work along some ungritted roads...I think I'll be investing in some winter tyres hehe

No that closed down a long time ago. Shame really, but they were massively overpriced.

I agree, owners clubs and ebay are the best way really. Try wheelwes.
