I have a Vokera Linea boiler which has been palaying up for over a year.
it flashes up 01 or 02 fault.
I changed the large PCB and other bits but no different.

I have biten the bullet and just bought a new Baxi HE40 condenser boiler (any good?)

What would be a rough price for changing the new boiler for the old boiler?
Same size gas pipe etc, i am told it is a days work.
I realise a waste pipe is to be added, my sink is next tot he boiler so that should be simnple.

Thanks for advice in advance.

To do it inline with the manufacturers recommendation you should powerflush the system to get all the old crap out of the pipework. This can take a few hours to do it correctly.

Plus you have to appreciate that you have kinda taken the cream or some profit out of the job by supplying the boiler yourself but i do see where you are coming from. The installer will also have to sign it off with Gas-safe. I would say a two day job to do it propertly but there are always ways to cut corners

The system is only 5 years old (new house) would it need flushed?
Vokera has given me nothing but trouble and it is only 5 years old.
I got the Baxi boiler cheap and i am told it was Which boiler of the year etc.

I am considering replacing the Ignition board on the Vokera before fitting new boiler.

Are the new HE boilers a lot more efficient, do you save much on your bills?

Thanks

why dont you pay someone who knows to come look at it instead of randomly replacing parts you dont even know are broken?

It does say it could be an ignition problem here and a quick Google shows up similar
problems cured by replacing the ignition board (Common fault), if he's got a spare board
might be worth a try.

I'm not sure that's fair, Dirk, those Vokeras are not fantastic and at least the Baxi's shortcomings are well known!!!

I have paid 2 so called heating engineers to look at it and service it and replace parts.
I also think they are way over paid and i hope that the recession kicks them back in to the real world.
I am now forced to try and get to the bottom of my problem myself.

But thanks for the constructive criticism.

Like with any industry there are hidden costs that dontalways seem apparent.

Gas safety retraining every 5 years, thats about £3k when you take into consideration a days wages and loss of profit. He came to your house, compile a quote, run the risk of doing the job and you notg paying etc. Plus a 4 year apprenticeship

I simply do not believe you paid a skilled professional to do a job in your house.

Go on tell us how bad you arsed it up before you called him in. smash
