...For a nice little blast?
Mine is Culverhouse Cross to Barry, along the coast to Cowbridge and then back through the wide lanes to culverhouse cross. Nice little 1 hour circuit I did on the bike atleast 10 times in the summer
Otherwise for a longer one it'd have to be the Newport-Monmouth rag along the dual-carriageway. Get some speeds going there

The A4069 between Brynamman and Llangadog. Fantastic road, fantastic scenery and my favourite castle (Carreg Cennen) is only a 5 minute detour….

Be careful on the a449 Dick, hidden speed traps, I know from bitter experience.
FWIW, I dont get back to Wales as much as I'd like & all the roads around me are full of cars, scameras, gatsos and carjackers.
My favourite, rhayader to Maccynlleth via the narrow mountain road - staylittle, dyliffe etc.

Great road. Good scenery as well. When I was travelling to North Wales for the job it was our prefered route. Get to Llanidloes for a good brecky then carry on. Bit awkward now in the Sprinter.
A483 early in the morning up to Builth Wells is a cracker failing that almost any road heading to/from brecon!
Did the B4520 with Davey the other day and thats also a corker.

I agree, that road was a belter. Will be better in the summer though although that means more cars.
I will be doing it again shortly when we have a dry (and preferably sunny) Sunday. My brother in law has taken on the role of organiser for the South Wales Audi TT owners and wants to organise a few runs so I said I would take him out and show him some good roads.
Let me know if you fancy it. You never know you may even get a free haircut out of it! (apologies to any TT owners!)
Dick. Agree about the Newport / Monmouth road but as Craig says it is always used by the camera vans. My girlfriends parents live in Ross and everytime we go there I see at lease 1 scamera van along the way.

TT owners club runs - do they start in the middle of town on a Saturday morning and involve a full days shopping for shoes before driving very slowly so everyone can see them to a nominated hairdressers for a quick blow dry?
Davey - Sunday sounds good as long as I can get my thermostat changed in time...

It used to be even better until they straightened out certain sections which are still visible I believe. I used to use it 1977-80 going back and forth university and there was a cracking little hump where the road rose and then dropped and the car would lift from the ground and you had to turn the steering mid-air as the road turned immediately after. What a cracker - even in an Austin A40!
