GTR2 Question - I know it's an old game....

I know GTR2 is a bit ancient now, but it's a game I always wanted to play, and only now do I have a PC capable of running it. However, this new PC has Windows 7. The game runs fine, but I cannot find my .PLR file anywhere. There are a couple of changes I want to make to try and improve the frame rate, and it's driving me mad. So does anybody know where the PLR file lives in Windows 7? It's not in the GTR2/Userdata folder...

Bit on a stupid question really, but are you sure GTR2 (being an old game) is compatible with Windows 7? I know that I've tried to install a few programs/games on Win7 that haven't worked....

GTR2 works the same way on Win 7 as XP (in my experience)

You need to create a profile before you get a PLR file, if not then it's in the Userdata/profilename directory.

I have created a profile, and there is a Userdata folder within the main GTR2 folder, but my PLR file is not there. It's driving me mental. It must exist somewhere because I have a profile in the game, but I don't know where. I've tried searching for it on my computer to no avail

Does windows 7 do something crazy like hide certain file types?

Could it maybe be in your c:\users folder somewhere?

Erm, by default Windows doesn't show known file extensions, so that will need turning on. Might be worth showing hidden files too just in case (I do this anyway).

OP, have you tried doing a search for the file?

I have tried searching for it, and I get no result. I downloaded the GTR2 demo and that did create a PLR file. Obviously when I got the full game I deleted the demo.
