The official silly questions thread
Discussion
I'll start
1. Rolling out pastry.
Is it possible to roll it out in such a way as for it to have a level thickness, i.e. not thicker in the middle and thinner at the edges?
When I make pastry and put it in the fridge, I always make it into a flat, level 'patty' rather than a 'ball', so I'm starting from a level premise, but I always end up with it thin at the edges and thicker in the centre.
Any tips?
And do feel free to add any questions relating to culinary preparation but which you always felt too much of a wally to ask here too

put less pressure on your rolling pin, I would hazard a guess that you are putting too much effort into it so pressing the sides down hence the high spot in the middle.

eta: obivously you aren't pushing the sides down at exactly the same time & bending the rolling pin, unless you're the incredible hulk
