New boiler - what to get and where from?
Discussion
As part of a new kitchen/utility room extension we are having built, we need to move the existing boiler but I wonder if its actually worth replacing it with a new condensing one. It's only about 4-5 years old but the builder says we will be without heat for a few days in mid-January if we re-use it.
I guess costs to move an existing boiler would be similar to install a new one and de-commission the old.
So, I've been looking at non-combi boilers and they seem to be at around the £500 mark e.g.

Would this be OK (3 bed bungalow, 4 persons) or should I be looking at Worcester Bosch i.e. a high quality make?
Also would there be a trade in value for the old one?

Stay away from Ravenheat. Horrible fiddly things to repair.
As Ferg says everyone raves about Worcester on this site, me being one of them, but I only recommend them because they are the only boiler I fit, but they have their problems like every other manufacturer.
But if you get one fitted by an Accredited Installer, you get the warranty extended to 5 years.
I've also heard good things about Vaillant, but have very little experience with them, they are built well though!
