Was browsing dpreview for the first time in a while, then went off lurching around the worldinterwidewebnet and came across this little wonder.

Gimmick for those that are too 'cool' for normal cameras.

Unfortunately I'm going to have to put this one into the "total and utter bks" basket. IMHO One for fashion victims only.

More at http://www.cameratown.com/reviews/rollei/Minidigi....

I quite like it, although I'm surprised it's only 2Mp.

Cute toy for people who want something different.

I think that's an earlier one - this one's a 5 meggy with "2304 x 2304 for high resolution with interpolation" i.e. it's like a Fuji!!!

Ah, the old Fuji/Sigma double standard!

'This camera of yours, it's only 2Mp, right?'
'No Sir, it's multiplied by 3 so it's actually 6Mp'
'Oh right, so the small pixel size makes it noisy then?'
'No Sir, it's only 2Mp'

I've got a Yashica which looks similar this rollieflex. I'm looking to put it on eBay (I have no use for it) so would appreciate any valuations?

You mean a real Yashica TLR as opposed to a digital retro toy?

Best bet is to search for them on eBay and see what they fetch. Nice cameras, but I learned the hard way that winding on and cocking the shutter are two seperate things... these days it would be badged as 'automatic multiple exposure mode' banghead

Simpo to be honest I've never used it but I inherited it. Its just sitting in a box at the moment not doing much. I have liked looking and handling it but I dont really have much desire to use it!

Run a roll of film through it, 7dayshop do 120 film for a couple of quid a roll. I use one occasionally when I feel that my photography is heading towards the scatter gun approach, it really makes you slow down and consider a shot when you only get 12 shots on a roll. I always feel better about my photography after using the Yashica and it generally improves my shots taken to keepers ratio.

If after one roll through it you're not convinced I believe they go for around £50 - £80 on eBay depending on the exact model.

You could of course just keep it as a nice ornament...?

I have a Mentor bellows camera (also inherited); no idea on value but it's just a nice thing to have and it also reminds me how convenient digital is!
