Just a quick post, does anybody know if they used a real Miura when the mafia smashed it up (sobb cry) just a bit curious!

If I recall, you don't actually see the car explode. Just an explosion from the other end of the tunnel..

No was just a shell I think, may even be a fake shell, watch it again and note the fact that there isnt an engine, gearbox or pretty much any internal bits as it goes over.

but you see the car smashed up though as per the pic above? you reckon they just got a shell ??

No all of the cars used were fibreglass bodies put upon already damaged cars. There was a huge article about it some time ago in either Classic & Sportscar or Octane.

Likewise with the Aston and the E Type.

The mini's or at least some of them still exist.

Mind you, Miura prices were fairly low at one point. L

As far as I can remember it was a time expired development car.
It had no engine/box fitted.
What used to annoy me, when seeing the repeats on TV, was seeing the wheel (and tyre) bouncing down into the river when I was looking for one in the early 80's. They were made of magnesium and not available at that time, ex-factory. Times change and they went back into production later but in aluminium.
