Dont knwo much about cars altho enough to get me by on a TVR

Slid out on water doing 35mph backend hit and then into a solid wall, im fine but worried about the damaged to my baby

added pictures on here and awaiting a insurance asser to come out this week

any advice woudl be great and also do you think the car can be reapaired?

The passenger wheel is hittign the back arch and the chasis leg looks bent in to me also the front wheel is wobbiling now, the oil tank has move as well as some other engine components, alarm etc doesnt work any more?

The bodywork is not a problem to repair at all, if there is chassis damage then that could be a problem with your insurance company but usually it is the suspension that bends, one way or another your car deserves to be back on the road. I am glad that you are ok.

Agree the body damage is not too bad but there is definately chassis damage but again does not look to bad . If you have a problem with the insurance company wanting to write it off email me . David

i have noticed that the passenger door if very hard to open and the front door gap accident side is nothing and the drivers side is 1/2" also i have noticed the rear boot is now up on the passenger side and there is a stress crack now under the rear window

engine sounds fine and this car has only done 10001 miles from new

i have now been advised that my insurance which is due on 15th dec has gone up from 456£ to 3809£ per year due to a claim and loosing my 3yrs bonus

how can you help me with this

Also looks like your nearside front wheel has shifted back could be suspension or chassis.Personally I think its nearly a cat c write off because of the damage in different areas making it expensive.Regards insurance your company obviously doesn't want your business anymore so just change at renewal the old company still have to pay out.

Sounds like you may have a twisted chassis, in which case they'll write off as CAT C, though hard to tell for certain. Get your payout or repair and then change insurance companies.

If they write it off use the write off money to buy it back.

You could also insist that your preferred garage takes a look at the car and gives a repair quote. Lots of insurance companies use "mainstream" repair shops to drive down cost, whilst this is OK for mainstream cars, TVRs are different, in particular the fibreglass expertise needed to repair them.

You may find that the insurance companies usual garage gives an inflated quote as they either a. don't understand how to do it and would outsource it anyway, they are adding their margin; or b. don't want the hassle / work and are inflating the price.

Either way, look on PH for repair threads, and insist on a TVR specialist looking over the car - they will be better able to assess the damage, and also to provide a realistic quote. Plus, you'll know that the job will be done right.

As previous posts indicate, there have been threads on PH with cars that look much worse, and are now back on the road.

Sorry to hear about your mishap - but remember, you have some say in the quality of repair that you demand from your insurance company. If they do insist on writing it off, buy it back off them, take is to a reputable TVR specialist and get is repaired properly.

Hope your ok Jason. I'm really gutted for you as I know how much work and love you put into that car. Every nut was replaced and clean as a whistle. So gutted but glad your OK. Where abouts did you hit water?
