more indicators I hear you cry!!!!!!
Sorry to excite you all but I have a problem with mine.
First let me brief you,The car is part rebuilt and I'm in the process of checking the electrics. The front indicators are not connected but the rears are.
The problem I'm having is when the hazzard switch is depressed the hazzard warning light is constant and the indicators dont flash.I've checked the three wires on the flasher unit, earth good but there is a constant 12v supply on the other two wires is this correct???? The hazzard switch is a bit sticky. In your experiances what would you go for, the flasher unit or the hazzard switch???
By the way the horn works which is contained within the hazzard switch.
Thanks Neil

Hi Neil,
I think the problem is lack of front indicators, meaning insufficient current draw. You know how it is when an indicator bulb fails and the remainder flash more quickly? Yours are doing the same except that you have effectively got four bulbs 'gone' (two fronts and and two side repeaters), so the rears are on permanently.
You haven't got two 12V supplies to the flasher unit - you've got one 12V supply and one 12V output. If you disconnect the true supply cable you'll find both will go to 0V.
Regards,
Graham

The following is a copy of an earlier post I did, It may help hopefully.
This is short and simple and is for people who don’t know much about electrics it will sound obvious to Mr Ferranti.
To test the flasher on a S2
take the flasher unit out of the car
put a 12v+ supply to terminal 49
put the 12v- supply to terminal 31
get a 21w lamp and touch the soldered nipple on the end onto terminal 49a and the side of the lamp to terminal 31 it should flash quicker than normal if it doesn’t flash the unit is duff, but make sure you use a lamp that you know works.
To test the indicator circuit take the flasher out of its housing, short out terminals 49 and 49a on the socket and test your indicators they should light but not flash.
If one side does and one doesn't you have a fault elsewhere
If neither work on one side it is probably your switch
If one only on one side works its probably a connection at the lamp
all the above assume you don’t have any duff bulbs
hope this helps someone
