Bought an Audi Engined S1 a month or so back and just finished putting proper suspension and brakes on the thing as well as a few creature comforts hehe Went round Abbeville race circuit the other week with the Sussex lot and had a great time in the car. My first drive in anger in a Lotus. The TVR Chimaera (see profile) is going frown

Oh yes yes Used to a well setup TVR Chim, so wanted a Lotus with some serious grunt! Got Gaz Gold Pro's on which were very good on the track, proper geo at Sinclaires, and AP ally bell disks with Pagid pads smile Could not beleive how well balanced the car was on track and just how bloody well it stopped!!. Took me all morning to get used to the car compared with the TVR, but made the decision that it was the car for me! Share the car with the other half (loopyLea) so may have to slum it in her modified Europa when she drives the S1 hehe

I assume that was an Exige S (black) up ahead for most of the vid. Seemed to be pretty even pace with the Exige appearing to take some better lines (no offence Chimjunkie! wink)

Certainly goes well thumbup

My lines were pants!! Spent the day getting used to the car really. Did not think too much about 'mastering' the lines... The Exige was a supercharged one and the Audi S1 gained on it comfortably when throttle fully planted and taking the revs right up. But the AP ally belled brakes on the S1 are bloody good so backed off along the straight and caught up braking into the corner. Although there is a problem with the engine as you may have noticed in the vid. It over revs between gears and i think there maybe a vacuum leak preventing the diverter valve coming in quickly when lifting off on high boost. This will also reduce the boost and power level.

The overall conclusion was i loved the car and it has so much potential! Cant wait for the next track day smile

Yes, Folembray will indeed be fun, just about every variant will be going from 120-280bhp, with me in the middle!!
