Ive used them for two years now and the other renewal quotes Ive had (if I could find one to quote) when renewing this year have been more expensive. When I declared the changes to my car there was no additional loading to the premium. I dislike the fact that you dont get a yearly NCB but, I have been told that if I change insurace companies classic line will provide proof of how long you have been insured with them.

Hope this helps

I don't think 'Classic' policies attract NCB but they are cheaper anyway.

I've used Classic Line and they were very good, however Hagerty were cheaper and also good.

I'm with Classic line (via a broker), they seem good so far, if a little basic. Limited mileage, no trackday cover etc.

In insured with Classicline with great regret. I was advised the same. Prior to insuring with Classicline I had 5 years NCB, I then insured with Classicline for 2 years and then switched to A Plan. A-plan required proof of NCB and this was not provided to me by Classicline, A-Plan took direct contact with Classicline to obtain evidence of NCB, this was not forthcoming as Classicline do not operate the NCB system. I was then advised by A-Plan that insuring policy stated existing NCB must be used either continuously or within a 2 year period before it lapses. As I insured with Classicline insurance for 2 years I lost all my NCB when renewing to my cost. Renew at your peril or for a maximum of 1 year so your NCB stays intact. Learnt my lesson the hard way. NEVER AGAIN.

No classic policy will honour your NCB no matter what company your with. So that's not really a Classicline specific thing. scratchchin

Its been on a classic policy for the last year so its not actually got any no claims as such. Hagerty etc are the same.

My current insurer quoted 580, Manning did 555 with the wife 505 without, classicline came in at 370. Strangly i have just had a call for my current insurer saying they had looked at my renewal and thought it strange it had not come down so have redone the quote.....£380.

Sorry but this reads like you mucked up not the insurer. Classic line, like all classic policies, dont use NCB. So you lose it (After a year I think).

Like you, I don't think any classic policy attracts NCB. I'm afraid this is a case of the individual not knowing enough detail and expecting NCB to be available to use irrespective of a break.

I was caught like that a few years back, my organisation offered lease car insurance after a period when we were self insured. I took that up for the 3 years of the lease and found I'd lost 9 years NCB due to the gap. I was not happy but this appears to be standard practice.

i am insured with classic line, i have been for this my second year, i made a phone call to them regarding NCB i was told as you all know, that they dont give NCD, however i have 5 years NCB with my previous company, they sent me proof of bonuses. i called classic line and was advised by them that they would log my NCB on my policy so if i ever change insurers i can take it with me.

Similar story for me. I "parked" my NCB on the classic policy for four years and when I wanted to use it on another normal car/policy they issued it without question. I imagine they would zero the NCB if you claim on the policy it's parked on even though the classic policy doesn't use the bonus.

I think the previous poster who lost his NCB was unlucky. In hindsight it would probably be a good idea to get the agreement in writing.

My experience with ClassicLine was good though I didn't need to claim. Since moved to Hagerty based on premium and good vibes heard on here.
