Discussion
Having a skim through some old F1 videos the other day, and got me thinking as to how many teams have come and gone since I first started watching the sport (about 1984). I can recall these, but I'm sure there were a few more :-
AGS
Andrea Moda
Arrows
ATS
Brabham
Coloni
Dallara
Eurobrun
Fondmetal
Forti
Larousse
Leyton House
Life
Ligier
Lola
Lotus
Montiverdi
Onyx
Osella
Pacific
Prost
Rial
Simtek
Stewart
Toleman
Tyrrell
Zakspeed
Sure there were a few more in the days of prequalifying.

ATS - 1980s version
ATS - 1960s version
Cooper
BRM
Alfa Romeo
HWM
Mercedes (not McLaren Mercedes)
Lancia
Vanwall
ERA
Scarab
Trojan
Maki
Eifelland
Matra
Aston Martin
Bugatti
Porsche
Shannon - Emery
Spirit - Honda
Eagle
All the above participated in World Championship Grands Prix (1950 onwards - Formula 1 AND 2)and I am sure there are even more long gone names. These are just off the top of my head.

No need for a question mark after Hesketh. Absolutely valid F1 team. Built and designed their own cars (after running Marchs for a couple of years).
In 1970, Cosworth also built an F1 car but it was never raced.
Ferguson built a four wheel drive front engined F1 car in the early 60s but it never ran in a Championship F1 race. Moss did drive it in at least one non-Championship event, the Oulton Park Gold Cup race.

Wolf - of course.
And there's Frank Williams' original team, which morphed into Wolf after he lost control of the company to Walter Wolf. Frank had also run the team under a number of different names previous to that -
Iso - Marlboro
Palitoy Williams
Anyone remember the Hexagon Brabhams - a separate outfit to Brabham proper?

Not me
I understand that John Watson was their driver and that Hexagon were from Highgate and had an unfortunate paint job (brown).
Then when they stopped their F1 involvement John Watson went to Surtees....which I know a bit more about
And de Tomaso, another Frank Williams team.

Scuderia Ambrosiana
Quote:
"In addition to these honors Taruffi holds or has held thirty-nine International speed records and has been a member of the following official works teams: Scuderia Ferrari (1931, 1932, 1933), Maserati (1934, 1956, 1957), Bugatti (1955), Scuderia Ambrosiana (1937, 1938, 1939..."
Nice name for a team. Scuderia Ambrosiana continued post-war (Reg Parnell etc).

Stewart was taken over completely by Ford and then re-branded as Jaguar.
Toleman was bought out bt Benetton but Benetton designed their own cars (as far as I know). Benetton had sponsored Tyrrell and Alfa Romeo previously.
BAR bought Tyrrell's "slot" on the grid rather than the whole team and designed their own cars from scratch.

Coppa Succa (probably not correct spelling)
I think copersucar (probably also incorrect spelling) were just the major sponsor of the fitipaldi team.
Around the same time Hector Rebaque was also running a Lotus 79 ( in a grotty brown colour) don't remember the team name though, probably Rebaque racing or some such.
