I have a Nikon D300s and am newish to SLR photography and am looking for a course to get to grips with my camera and learn how to use it to its potential. Can anyone suggest or recommend a photography course either in general or specific to the Nikon D300/s range?

The Nikon courses look price and I have also considered Park cameras, any others?
thanks
James

I'm not sure I'd bother actually paying for tuition. The basics really are pretty simple!

Ask questions on here, find yourself some tutorials on the web, see if others on here want to meet up for a photo session and give you some pointers etc...

Going Digital run pretty good courses nationwide, I went on the beginners one a while ago. Check out www.goingdigital.co.uk

One of the chaps who runs that is held in very high regard by quite a lot of photographers I know. And me, of course smile

This is part of what I do for a living. I am a photographic digital tech and specialise in Nikon, Canon and Hasselblad. I have taught a few very experienced fashion photographers how to use new Nikon cameras (mostly due to migrating from Canon).
I would offer to help but am only in Bristol for two days and will be a bit tied up.

For technical information I recommend http://www.nikonians.org
- It is well worth looking at the custom setting chart someone has put together. That and shoot RAW and not Auto.
