Potential Wii Newby- Advice Please

I would appreciate some advice from console and games experts. I'm in the process of buying a Wii as a Xmas present for 8 and six year old daughters.

What should I look out for, what should I buy in terms of accessories and games etc.

Wii sports will keep them and you occupied for hours! Mario and Sonic at the olympics are fun too. Wii fit is quite good too and comes with the balance board.

You want at least two, and maybe more, controllers. Rechargeable batteries and stand for controllers worth it in the long run.

Everything else you'll pick up in the sales in the New Year if you decide you need it.

You should look out for Resident Evil 4 and ensure they leave the machine alone for you to play it.

There are lots of games for kids out there on the Wii, but many will need a second controller and Nun-Chuck, so investing in Wii Sports gets you a second controller (and some fun games) and then a nun-chuck for £15 or so means two player games can be embarked upon, and saves the kids arguing about it (well, it should reduce it anyways).

We have a game called Monkey Ball Bonanza (IIRC) which has lots of little mini-games which are suitable for kids.

Wii play gets you a 2nd controller not wii sports, wii sports comes with the wii.

You'll need.

Wii including wii sports
wii play including extra controller
extra nunchuck attachment
wii sports resort including wii motion plus
extra wii motion plus
games
batteries, preferrably rechargeables with charger, don't bother with the expensive charging stations, an ordinary AA battery charger will work fine.

If its casual and for kids, then the golf in wii sports is fine.

For a more realistic golf game try tiger woods 2010
