I'm going to be showing some of my pictures at a slideshow in a week or so.

I will only be able to travel there with the files on a cd or drive - can't really take a lap top - there will be one supplied together with projector etc....

Is there a viewing program that I can take with me to run from the drive/cd to show the pictures through ?

I don't want to use Windows picture viewer as the pictures lack sharpness unless viewed at 100% --

So basically - I have a range of image sizes - mostly bigger than a screen that need to fit onto the screen without the loss of sharpness>?>?>

You could knock together something in HTML to display the pictures in a full screen web browser at 100% window size. You'd either need to use some trick DHTML or flash though to keep the sharpness there.

I think the loss of sharpness may come from the fact they aren't being displayed at native resolution. What about resizing and resharpening them so they fit the screen or just inside it?

I think that might have to be the answer.....

resize to fit a screen --

I was hoping to avoid that as there are quite a few...

Anyone used Nero Photosnap viewer - tried that at work - I'd never seen it but the pictures are sharp at any size when i use that??

How about these:

Personally, I have just used Proshow Gold and was very impressed with the quality. I used a selection of facebook photos and exported them in HD format and the sharpness was amazing.

Yes but the quality suffers a lot. Resize to screen res of the Laptop... it's the only sure fire way.

I think I'm going to have to drag my laptop there - I don't know anything about the one that will be there.....

Is there a video projector involved? If so that's another rake in the garden of resolution to step on...

By the way I use 'Pro Show Gold' to make my presentations, when I got it, it had a fully functioning (no watermark) free 15 day trial. It's very good.

Google is your friend.

I shall have a look Mr. C. Cheers

Failing that -- it's going to be sticking each one on a black slide on powerpoint

thanks for the link

unfortunately it now appears to have "Made as an evaluation of ProShow Gold" across each slide!
