Anyone know whether all C5's had this option, my dad has a '97 Coupe but it never came with a fob, he has since got hold of one but cannot seem to get it to work (he has the genuine workshop manuals and got the info on how to do it from there)

Maybe there is a little black control box I could look for to make sure?

Cheers

The US and Euro spec C5s have different lock electronics and the fobs are not interchangeable. So far as I know keyless entry didn't feature on Euro cars. Come to that I've been surprised how many small differences there are between the two spec's having spent a number of (un)happy hours looking for the non-existent auxiliary electrical outlet in the passenger footwell!

Signs of a Euro car are fog lamps in the rear valence and the permanent tow hooks front and rear.

Including the wheels being mounted 1/2" further inboard on European models. Now you know why US spec Vettes look tougher and you weren't sure why.

PKE isn't fitted on my 2003 Z06......just as well as the furkin thing is a PITA on my 1996. When you are stood next to the car chatting it keeps locking and unlocking itself with the annoying beep of the horn!

PKE on the C4 can easily be imobilised and reinstated by the press of a button on the fob, but then aggain, you probably already knew that.

Yeah there were loads of them doing this at the Corvette shows I went to at Knebworth, wondered what on earth it was as my dads car didn't have this feature (he had a '92 C4 before he got the C5)
