Is it worth it?

I gather for lanscapes, portrait etc it's probably worth the change but would I see a significant difference for Macro work?

Not entirely sure what you mean. I don't think the 450d is full frame it's a cropped sensor isn't it?

What are you moving from? What lenses do you already have?

title was meant to have a '>' in it, seems its missing!

sorry, should have been clearer...

I have a 450 which as you say is cropped, thinking of moving to a full frame as I have been offered one, wondering if all the hassle of changing lenses would be worth it as my main passion is macro.

What FF?

Tho none of them will get more pixels on a subject than a higher density crop body, I cant see any advantage for macro with a FF body.

4hero might correct me, but while the IQ of a 5d MKII is better than say, a 50d or a 7d, you're going to struggle with depth of field issues even more on full frame.

Neil shoots with a cropped sensor and I've never had any issues with his macro shots!

I'd say you'd be better off putting the money towards an MP-E 65 and the twin flash setup - then you can indulge your macro passion in all new and exciting ways!
