What video signal format are you using?

Does the amp do the video signal switching?

no idea. i have standard left/right audio + video output from the dvd player. it used to have all 3 going into the tv via a scart adapter but now audio goes to the amp.

Sounds like composite video, in which case you'd need a length of coax (or 3 lengths for video and stereo audio)

You need one of these..

If the link is dead then just search maplin for "Audio/Video Hi-Fi Phono Lead"

just the yellow one, and needs to be longer than 3m. would that be coax then?

What amp/dvd player/ TV do you have, there may be a better quality connection method available, RCA is one of the most basic ways of doing things.

Amazon do a 5m one..
You could probably find cheaper on e-bay but to be honest I use Amazon for most cables and they seem to have a good selection.
