He was quoting from a poem in which the poet Catullus (iirc) was telling a number of his contemporary competitors to feck right off, basically.

Personally I think the old goat was unwise in the extreme to include it in an email given the PC nature of today's society. He'll be arguing he was illustrating a point with a quotation from classic poetry. She'll be arguing she deserves a huge payday for having to read something she needed to Google in order to understand.

Hmmm.

She wasn't actually an employee but a friend of his sons who he was having an E-mail exchange with.

Moreover part of their discussion was exchanging Latin phrases.

I would agree though that in today's climate of women seeking an easy pay day once they have had enough of the pressures of city life, that the boss has to be careful of every E-mail and word they say.

phone I'd like to make an enquiry about two supplementary auxiliary speakers to go with my midi hi-fi system, apro po achieving surround sound. Apro po. I mean, it's Latin, isn't it? Well, you ought to have a basic grasp of Latin if you're working in Curry's.

two of my faves.
