biggrin

It's fun to set it off then just leave it in the background for a while. Check up on it now and then to see how humanity is doing against the zombies.

I like the 28 days later style zombies fast, fast infection, and a lot of them.

Sounds interesting but not accessible from work...

Reminds me of an online turn based game that plenty of people used to play before the likes of facebook... can't remember it's name though...

I found it on digg... It may have suffered from the digg effect by now.
Hopefully it will be back up again soon.

Basically it uses google maps and adds civilians and zombies onto the map.
Then you can set the stats (% of civilians armed, how good an aim, how fast the zombies are, etc) and let them loose.

Class 3 outbreak

6000 Civilians
0% Armed
20% Civilian Accuracy
20 Zombies
Northern outbreak
Fast zombies
1 minute to infect
2 coppers with a 30% accuracy rate.

15 minutes in and there are 1000 civilians left, 4800 zombies and 300-odd dead.

ETA; 20 minutes and it's all over.

Link works fine for me - much fun!

Love the calm 28 days later style music too.

I don't think we stand much chance in the UK - 0% armed civilians, coppers without guns frown

We don't have 0% armed civilians though to be fair wink There's a fair few people who own private weapons (and probably everyone has SOMETHING, even if it's just a pair of scissors...)

Plus we have a fair sized army, navy, and air force too!

As it's Washington I thought I'd do another, more realistic scenario;

15,000 Civilians, 80% Armed with 10% Accuracy.
200 very fast zombies with a 5s infection time
8 Powleese, again with a 10% accuracy.

I have scissors! But I'm only 10% accurate with them..

I wish you could add on the army, then we would give those zombies a taste of their own brains!

If you like that then you'll love this:

Pandemic 2. You create a virus and you have to spread around the world. Madagascar always survives. It's the hardest place to infect. It has ONE PORT to enter in... And they close it as soon as a man sneezes in London.

the settings I've got at the moment are keeping the number of zombies to about 150. They are moving north and slowly killing the population though. 9 minutes, 1200 dead 3700 left with 20% armed with 50% accuracy.

Nice, 5 min infection time is quite cool. Slow and steady and waves of attacks smile

Would be cool if police responded and came to dead bodies etc, and also if people could panic better/run in houses etc... I guess these are all additions to come smile

Grrr. Annoyingly fascinating! And annoyingly stupid BiB - they're my 100% accuracy crackshot anti-zombie force, yet constantly start at the 'wrong' side of the map and never move towards the wave of zombies!

Yep, it has some scope for more interesting dynamics. Plod seem pretty retarded. People don't run away etc.

This could be genuinely really good with some more programming features for the 'AI' hehe

Locking selves in buildings and the buildings becoming stronger the longer/more people are in there.

Swat teams arrive.

Is it me or would this make a decent full on RTS game?

You command a group of survivors. You must rescue others and fight off the hoards.

Does it take into account that if you have 2000 survivors, 1000 of which are armed. after 50% casualties you'd most likely have 1000 survivors 95% of which are armed?...
