Barff in Speed 12
Rob Barff has confirmed that he'll be joining Michael Caine in the Speed 12 this year. Full details will be announced at the GT launch at Silverstone tomorrow.

i was pissed of last year when he at brands hatch indy circuit pushed curtis hayles of in the viper then blamed him the checky git, there was no space for him on the inside line but he pushed in and pushed hayles of into the gravel
Best place for a car with a tractor engine- the gravel!!
Only kidding viperman. What kind of viper do you own by the way? I drove a viper RT10 last summer is the GTS better/easier to drive?
Barrf and Caine should be a pretty quick combination though......
IMO Caine was without doubt the fastest man on the GT circuit last year, and I'm sorry to say, but I feel he was let down by BV-R when they changed drivers! If I remember correctly, Caine was fastest at nearly every circuit! I was at the Night race finale and Caine screamed up the field after the pit stop, amazing to watch the number moving along the scoreboard so quickly! I hope the Caine/Barff combination allow the SP12 to really show it's true potential this year! And bring more silverware to blackpool!

thats the hayles Viper which was being lapped at the time and shown a blue flag to let the Tuscan R through when it was having a ding dong battle for the lead with the 996 GT3 RS of kelvin burt.
The GTO hayles viper was suffering badly as a roadblock for most of last year. IT was frequently a lap down and seemed to have piss poor visibility given it frequently failed to get over when being lapped and held up the faster GTO cars.
Take rockingham as an example where the driver would not get over and ended up spoiling the GTO leaders race. By holding up the Tuscan R for over a lap and then dropping oil on the track.
I hate Vipers they are crude and a dog to drive. There was one at rockingham with a bumper sticker that read 'at 200mph you have no friends', we thought this would be best supplemented with either 'you have no friends anyway' or '200mph my arse'

Met Rob in the traffic jam home from Brands on Monday -Very nice calm collective young man - should do very well if that cool after driving a Speed12 on his 1st race of the season.
PS He was in a Nissan 200SX on the way home - brings as whole new meaning to 'my sunday car is a ......'
PPS Thanks for the caps Rob - Ian - in the Silver Tuscan

This is vaguely on topic, but was it just me or did the speed 12 seem to be remarkably quiet at BH? (well, relatively )
Last year I remember it as pretty much the loudest car on the track, but this year not so.
Anyone else with the same opinion? Maybe they weren't giving it the full right boot treatment with it being a bit poorly, but it seemed that way from the start.
