According to an officer who pulled me over in October, I have not had a Licence since 1995.....

This is regardless that the licence has been endorced 5 times since 1995 and I know some of you have been standing next to me at track days when I have forgot the paper thing and they have called the DVLA to confirm I have a licence, and most years I ask the insurance co to check licence points.

He then tried to take the Liz and impound it. I emphasise "tried". (different story that would take faaaaar to long to tell)

So (the long and short of it) I have had to apply for my licence to be renewed. The DVLA have an SLA of 15 days for this process. I have nagged and nagged them for this licence since Oct 8 and finally got a licence ... and a cheque for the renewall fees. Strangly the charges of driving without a licence have not materialised either.

Fekking fekkity fekkers fook fook fook.

Interesting Gooby.
I got a tug some years ago and plod said I didn't have a licence. Couldn't find my copy but after a bit of toing a froing plod confirmed I did. I forgot all about it.
Fast forward several years and I need to find my licence after being pulled for speeding as this time Plod say I haven't a licecne and DVLA have no record of it.
Strange, as I apply for a copy (can't find my original) and one duly arrives. Plod happy when they see it.
Earlier this year I get pulled for not having a tax disc (taxed online after being SORNED) and plod again say I don't have a licence (or tax as its not showing at the DVLA!!!!). I don't get a 'producer', plod says he'll check it out. Couple of days later he tips up at my home and asks if I have a copy of the licence, which I show him. He sees that tax disc on the car, sees my licence and insurance are OK so clears off . End of story.
So how can the DVLA be able to send me a copy of my licence promptly and then endorse said licence but not be able to provide plod with neccessary details when they want/need them?????

Ah young Tim - a youthful lesson... you seem to be confusing consistency and knowing what's what with inconsistency and not knowing what's what

that would be a certain Oyster 82 skipper with the same name as me?... it was a discovery, not a range rover!... and if it didn't want to do that speed, it wouldn't have!.... and it was a very very very long time ago!

The strangest thing is that even though I didnt have a licence, over fourteen years it has had over 17points migrate through it.

scratcheshead!

...and in just under 1 month, I will have a clean licence for the first time since about 2 weeks after I passed my test. The displayed prosecution shows no resemblance to the dates that I was convicted or the fines levied. but hey! A clean licence! I think I need to get out and drive .... fast ....

After a certain officer didnt get to impound a certain 'liz and a certain PH member didnt react too well to the officer telling him how "nice" he had just been, I dont have a problem finding police cars that love to follow me around.
Wave nicely at the Grey Focus ST!

It seems that some person in DVLA added details to my licence but instead of amending the record, he added a new and incomplete record. Changes in the system has ment that this record was called up by the PNC. Then was as simple as " 'puter says no".

Modern road policing = whatever the PNC says regardless that the average data entry clerk working for the police has english as a second language and the data links to insurance, MOT and DVLA databases are hopeless.
