Chaps, i've advertised my 3200Gt on here and a couple of other places but so far only 2 bites and i don't think any of them are serious! It one of the last made and everything is spot on-see my email in classifieds it's the Sebring Blue one and i've priced it at 34k. What do you think is causing me this issue of not having any buyers when the car is one of the best i found when i was buying! Any feedback good or bad is appreciated. Thanks

It looks a splendid car. All I would say is that perhaps a picture of all of the car might be useful, as all you have is detail shots.

Also the price might be a little on the aggresive side. I've just bought a slightly less well specced car, with less miles, for not much more than you are asking, but from a main dealer. I'd have thought that you'd have to discount a bit.

Personally, I can't justify spending that kind of money other than with a reputable dealer. I know there is no real reason for this, but its just a peace of mind thing I suppose. I've seen it said in the past that £30k+ cars are hard to sell privately for this reason.

However there are plenty of people who think differently so I'm sure you'll get some interest. As I say, it looks splendid.

Good Luck.

Could'nt sell mine on Pistonheads etc. People don't buy 'troublesome' cars like these privately. They prefer a dealer. Mine had an extended Trident warranty but people seemed to think if they offered trade I would sell it to them! At trade it goes to the trade!! (as it did)

Alastair. Why don't you SOR the car with someone reputable like Karl Verdi? Your car will then go to the end user with full dealer facilities and a warranty.

To be honest, despite the car looking fantastic and having a great specification, you are just looking for too much for it.

Look at the ads either side they are both from dealers (not Maserati but reputable with full "dealer facilities") and they are asking 5-6K less for cars a year older - including one that is an auto - which are worth a grand or so more - and more saught after by the "average" buyer

Your car is also being squeezed by the early 4200s which, rear lights apart, are a vastly superior car, and can be had at around 41-42K with a lot less miles than yours - and with 9 mths to a year more of warranty + all dealer facilities - trade in finance etc.

I hope you are lucky and find that one buyer who really wants your car, but I suspect you will need to accept nearer to £30K than you would like!

I am currently looking for a 3200, I have no issues buying privately and saw your ad on here. Please dont take this the wrong way. The reason I have not called about your car, which does meet all my requirements is price. To give a real example, I am negotiating on a 2001 auto with under 10000 miles with a dealer who will also part ex my Ferrari and the dealers starting price on the 3200 is only £2K more than yours, although you do have more extras.

I'm afraid I think the guys are right Alastair. I'm the last one who wants the price of these cars down but I bought a similar spec car to yours, the only diff is I dont have sat nav but I do have the later wheels and its an auto. Its the same age and has less miles and I got a full trident warranty and it was virtually the same price as yours. I guess if you really want to shift it you'd need to either part ex it or advertise it at £30,995ish, sorry

Why are you selling ?

Well if someone offered £31995 it would be their's and they'd be very happy with a very nice car!

I presume that its actually an 02 reg 51 plate if its got one year's warranty left?

You main problem is the mileage and gearbox - dealers only really want the auto.

I could'nt sell mine and in the end, last autumn, took £23.5k from an independent dealer for what at the time was a four year old manual 3200GT with 25k miles.

Yours sounds great BTW, but the extra spec is worth little, I am afraid.

I see you've reduced it Alastair, very best of luck selling it, I will spread the word.
