One thing you hear again and again is that "Ferrari are footballers cars". So it's interesting to get a few facts (at least I think they're facts) from todays' Metro. The top ten footballers cars are:
1) BMW X5 (sorry Joust)
2) Range Rover Autobiography
3) AM Vanquish (nooooo)
4) Merc MLS 550 (WTF is this?)
5) Jag XK
6) Black/black Ferrari 360 spider (sorry Ali, first Simon Cowell, now this )
7) Merc ML 350 (ditto above)
8) BMW M3 (sorry Guy, insult to injury )
9) Audi RS6
10) Volvo XC90

So. Only one Ferrari, and it's number 6! God I'm easily pleased.

It would be interesting to see how they compile the list, what the sample of players were.

Aston must be building a lot more Vanquish than I imagined.

DAZ

Edited to say no porsches mentioned in the list.

Daz, I've just seen the small print and it's from 'Nuts' magazine (tabloid version of FHM etc) so source is hardly impeccable. When I went round the Aston factory a couple of months ago, I recall they were making several thousand Vanquish a year.

Are you sure that's not several thousand cars per year total, including the Vanquish model? otherwise it seems an awful lot. I mean Ferrari only build 4,000 cars per year of which say a third are 575. Are there twice as many Vanquish than 575 about, thought it was the other way around.

PS - You must be ticking the days off on the calendar, when's santa making a late drop off to your garage!

The list is a load of Bo11ocks, but its done its job as we're discussing it and "Nuts" magazine (a new launch) has got cross publication publicity.

I doubt many division 2 and 3 footballers have anyting more luxurious than a Ford Focus!

Aston only make about 600 Vanquish a year.....

Still if the hyper paid premiership footballers do buy these cars and them change them out after a year - they've taken the hit on depreciation and "we" can buy them cheap???

It's more than that according to the chappie who was showing us round. I can't remember the number precisely so could very easily be wrong (too busy dribbling over the black ones, and not in the footballing sense either), but it made me think "wow, that's a lot".

PS Daz. Santa arrives early March I think (early Feb build). Wait is now measured in weeks!

Kev.

Look forward to seeing the new garage resident.

Might I suggest if on the 21st march you are bored and looking for an excuse to put a few miles on the beast, that you consider making a guest appearance at a certain Leicestershire airfield. I'll shout your lunchtime ratburger and panda pop if you want to call by, and of course a few passenger seats will be made available to one of PHs more frequent demo pilots.

Stay away from footballers cars..

The last owner of my GTO was Emile Hesky, and the fat had shagged the wheels, suspension, abs and antiroll bar.

When I asked them how, they said either taking sleepoing policemen at Evil speeds, or even worse.. a kerb head on :|

Aston should ban footie players from buying their cars. It will drag their image down. A cool Ferrari is a classic Ferrari. No football player would comprehend buying an old car with class.

Is it not possible to "hear" everyones opinion without getting personal? Their opinions are just that - their opinions.

Me either. Virtually all of the Man U squad has them and Rio Ferdinand has a nice Arnarge T.

Must be quite a few DB9's floating round now as well.
